Poland is making efforts to actively promote the European Drug Prevention Quality Standards by holding and supporting trainings both in Poland and abroad.

An important element of new psychoactive substances prevention is monitoring the problem not only by the Polish services but also in collaboration with other countries. The Polish National Focal Point by the National Bureau for Drug Prevention annually holds international conferences to discuss issues related to new psychoactive substances. The last year’s conference took place in Krakow while this year it was organized in Poznan.

The National Bureau for Drug Prevention in collaboration with the Pompidou Group held the 9th conference of the international precursor diversion network.

On 5-6 October this year, an international conference entitled “Quality in Prevention” was held in Warsaw by the National Bureau for Drug Prevention (KBPN) and Mazovian Centre for Social Policy (MCPS). The conference was attended by over 140 participants, including 20 foreign experts from Cypress, Georgia, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden, Ukraine and European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA).

The Polish Reitox Focal Point by the National Bureau for Drug Prevention has been cooperating with National Focal Points in the Baltic States for a number of years. At the end of June a training seminar on European Drug Prevention Quality Standards for Lithuanian drug prevention specialists was organized in Lithuania.

The Polish delegation participated in the 59th Session of Commission on Narcotic Drugs (17-22 March) in Vienna that included the Special Segment meeting (14-16 March) on preparation for the UNGASS 2016. During the meeting Polish delagation organized side-event on the Urban Drug Policy and the Warsaw Declaraion.

On 10-11 June the National Bureau for Drug Prevention in Cooperation with the Masovian Centre for Social Policy organizes the conference on minimum standards in drug demand reduction for representatives of local governments and international guests.

In the second week of August the National Bureau for Drug Prevention will host representatives of the Georgian partner institution with whom the project “Drug Prevention in Georgia” is implemented under the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs program „Polish aid”.

On 4-5 September 2013 the Polish Reitox Focal Point in cooperation with the Hungarian Focal Point as well as with the EMCDDA organizes the Reitox Academy on New Psychoactive Substances (NPS).
