Training seminar on the European Drug Prevention Quality Standards in Latvia
Poland is making efforts to actively promote the European Drug Prevention Quality Standards by holding and supporting trainings both in Poland and abroad.

On 30 November 2016, under the cooperation with Ms Ieva Pugule, Coordinator at the Latvian Reitox Focal Point and Ms Agnese Zile-Veisberga, Latvian National Drugs Coordinator, a one-day training seminar on the European Drug Prevention Quality Standards (EDPQS) was held in Riga

The training featured both lectures on the EDPQS as well as workshops. It was attended by more than a dozen experts from Latvia, including officials at the central, regional and local governments and personnel of non-governmental organizations. For the purposes of the seminar, the EDPQS Quick Guide was translated into Latvian. The training participants used the EDPQS for the assessment and review of the draft prevention projects.

The seminar was the second consecutive training event dedicated to the EDPQS led by the Polish Reitox Focal Point expert in the Baltic States and was welcomed by the participants. The first training was held in June 2016 in Vilnius. For more information on the Lithuanian seminar go to:

The Polish experience in implementing the European Drug Prevention Quality Standards will be presented in March this year at the 60th CND session in Vienna under the side-event organized by the National Bureau for Drug Prevention in collaboration with the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction.
