It is the 18th meeting of the Provincial Drug Experts, who were appointed by Marshal Offices to work in the respective regions of the country. A close cooperation between the Provincial Experts and the Information Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction of the NBDP allows for collecting data on the scale of drugs and drug addiction and anti-drug activities at the local community level.
During the conference a draft National Programme for Counteracting Drug Addiction will be presented as well as a draft anti-drug act. Moreover, principles of implementing the nationwide research project into the prevalence of psychoactive substance use in general population will be discussed along with the progress of implementing the project of monitoring drugs and drug addiction at the local level. The meeting agenda includes a discussion of the problem of legal highs in Poland and a presentation of the NPCDA implementation by communes in 2009.
