Psychoactive substance use in general population in 2009

At the end of 2009 the Information Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction of the National Bureau for Drug Prevention conducted a drug prevalence survey among Polish population aged 15-75. The field part of the project was completed by Millward Brown SMG/KRC.
According to the survey results the most prevalent substance are legal highs. 6% of the respondents admitted to at least a single contact with legal highs. Men used legal highs more often (7%) than women (5%). Nearly every tenth respondent aged 15-24 reported using legal highs (9%). Cannabis was the second most prevalent substance. The lifetime and 12-month prevalence rates stood at 5% and 2% respectively.
