Moreover, this year provincial experts (provinces of malopolskie, wielkopolskie and pomorskie) along with the CINN KBPN representative have presented the experiences of the Polish monitoring during the Rome conference entitled “2nd EMCDDA Reitox Academy: creation of a national observatory and network of regional drug observatories - NIOD project – Italian network of addiction observatories” hosted by the Italian Focal Point and the European Centre for Monitoring Drugs and Drug Addiction (7-9 September). In Italy, a decision was made to implement the regional monitoring by establishing regional Focal Point observatories. This year a 2nd conference for regional Italian Focal Points has been organized. The conference was attended by EMCDDA experts, Polish representatives as well as visitors from the Israeli monitoring centre. In Poland, the monitoring of drugs and drug addiction has been performed since 2001 within the network of Provincial Drug Information Experts. The local monitoring project has been implemented since 2008 by the CINN KBPN in cooperation with the provincial experts. The results of the monitoring are published in provincial reports.
